Abstract: Ink painting is a kind of Chinese traditional painting which is different from fine brushwork painting. Technically, Chinese traditional painting can be divided into passionate painting and detailed painting. Passionate painting features the freestyle expressing of the painter’s emotions. Ink Animation Creation, which uses Chinese ink painting to create animation, consists two elements: Chinese ink painting (the exterior form), and animation (the core content). The nature of Ink Animation Creation is to express characters by means of Chinese ink painting. It requires mastery of basic patterns and painting methods, of form and basic language of ink creation. And the painters should have a clear understanding of the mould, shape and structure of Chinese ink painting, which are all important basics of ink animation creation. Reasonable use of ink in performance is the key to making great ink animation creation.
