《白蛇:缘起》道家意象的叙事功能与通俗表达

The Narrative Function and Popular Expression of Taoist Cultural Images in White Snake

摘要:

动画电影《白蛇:缘起》改编自中国四大民间故事《白蛇传》,崭新的叙事以其清新优雅的审美风格受到广泛好评。“意象”的概念起源于先秦哲学,在六朝以后成为中国诗学和其他艺术领域的重要理论范畴。在这个影片中包含道家文化意蕴的意象被称为“道家文化意象”。与西方经典结构主义的叙事剖析不同,本文通过考察影片中道家文化意象的叙事功能,认为源自中国古典诗歌与小说的意象叙事可以建构独具特色的中国叙事格局,表达中国当代大众媒介对传统道家思想的通俗认识。

Abstract:

The animated film White Snake is adapted from one of the four major Chinese folktales, Madame White Snake, but with a brand-new narrative, which is widely praised for its fresh and elegant aesthetic style. The concept of "image" is believed to have originated from pre-Qin philosophy and become an important theoretical category in Chinese poetics and other artistic fields after the Six Dynasties. In this film, the images containing Taoist cultural connotation are called "the Taoist cultural images". Different from the narrative analysis of Western classical structuralism, this article, by examining the narrative function of Taoist cultural images in the film, shows that narrative image as derived from Chinese classical poetry and novels can construct a unique Chinese narrative pattern, and thus could express the popular understanding of traditional Taoism in Chinese contemporary mass media.
