Abstract:

AI micro-short dramas, as an emerging narrative form, have rapidly gained popularity on Chinese short video platforms. They utilize AI technology to complete the entire production of micro-short dramas, showcasing a unique creative appeal among the audience. The creative process of AI-generated micro-short dramas embodies the core concepts of reception aesthetics. The "Chinese Mythology" series launched by CCTV is a prime example of combining AI technology with Chinese cultural themes, providing new case studies for reception aesthetics research. However, due to the current state of technological development and limitations, AI micro-short dramas tend to present visual jumps and audio-visual stereotypes when constructing the "invocation structure",reflecting the unique challenges faced by AI micro-short dramas in plot narration. From the perspective of content creation, AI micro-short dramas are reconstructing the audience's aesthetic standards based on previous experiences and are expected to form a new and unique cultural paradigm.
