美国通识教育的探索历程与启示

摘要:

发端于英国兴起于美国的通识教育,不论是从教育理念,还是从教育实践看,都是美国高等教育课程改革一条不可忽视的脉络。伴随着社会经济需求、思想观念发展所不断调整的人才培养目标,通识教育与专业教育在高等教育课程设置中的地位随着时代变换此消彼长,相伴发展。从最初的博雅教育到自由选修,从分类选修和通识核心课程,再到当前的各种改革,通识教育的美国高校课程改革历程对我国正在推进的通识教育有一定的启发价值。

Abstract:

Originated in Britain and thrived in America, general education is an evident skeleton in the curriculum reform of American higher education. Having continuously adjusted the aim of cultivating talents to meet the demands of social economic growth and ideology development, general education and professional education intertwined and complemented each other in the curriculum reform of higher education. From the original liberal education to free electives, from distributional electives and general core curriculums to current various reforms, the exploration course of general education in American colleges and their curriculum reforms can all provide enlightenment on the advancing general education in China.
