Abstract:

As a National Intangible Cultural Heritage of China, Dong brocade weaving technique embodies the cultural wisdom and rural memory of ethnic minorities in central and western China. Yet it faces dual challenges of symbolic semantic discontinuity and banal perceptual experiences in contemporary transmission. This study employs the “Weave Resonance” digital interaction project as an experimental framework, constructing a three-dimensional narrative model of “cultural foundation-spatial manifestation-sensory experience” to propose a systematic revitalization pathway. First, a parametrically derivable cultural gene database is built through shape grammar deconstruction of Dong brocade patterns and 12-color spectral analysis. Subsequently, collaborative integration of Leap Motion gestural interaction and Arduino tactile feedback enables dynamic responsiveness between pattern morphology and user behaviors. Innovatively adopting a dye-food homology anchoring strategy, intelligent scent vaporization devices and edible samples are applied to construct a temporally linked multisensory experience integrating visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and gustatory dimensions. The research transcends the unidimensional paradigm of traditional Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) exhibition, forming a tripartite revitalization architecture that synergizes technical tier (digital generation), artistic tier (pattern interpretation), and cultural tier (narrative reconstruction). This framework provides a verifiable design paradigm for the contemporary translation of Chinese cultural DNA, while establishing the methodological value of multisensory interaction in constructing cultural narrative spaces.
