Abstract:

Linhai Museum has more than 50,000 cultural relics items in its collection, among which painting and calligraphy play a crucial role in its collection of cultural relics. Due to insufficient storage facilities in the original warehouse, insufficient awareness of preventive protection and management, and the limitation of original painting and calligraphy mounting technology, some fine paintings and calligraphy in the collection had been damaged to varying degrees. Later, with the construction of the new museum, the leaders attached great importance to protection and restoration works. In both 2018 and 2019, the collection of paintings and calligraphy was restored selectively and in batches. The author has participated twice in the preparation of the protection and restoration plan for the collection of painting and calligraphy. Through the research on disease analysis of painting and calligraphy, the author summarized the general reasons for the damage to the paintings and calligraphy so as to facilitate the better protection for the collection of the calligraphy and painting, which makes the calligraphy and painting after restoration more useful in the excavation of regional culture and the construction of spiritual civilization.
