Abstract:

The “Melnikov’s Painting Pedagogy System” represents a specific manifestation within the historical evolution of the Russian painting education system. Rooted in a distinct artistic style, it forms a novel educational framework that integrates creative concepts, artistic objectives, and practical teaching methodologies. Emerging in its embryonic form in the 1950s, this system evolved through half a century of academic teaching practice, emphasizing the intrinsic connection between foundational training and creative practice. It facilitated the integration and exploration of traditional painting techniques with modern artistic expressions, thereby establishing a systematic theoretical and practical foundation for the development of contemporary academic painting education in Russia. Not only does it continue to shape the future trajectory of Russian painting, but it also offers broader perspectives and possibilities for the advancement of academic painting education systems in both China and Russia.
