Abstract:

Telling the story of contemporary China well through literature and art is of great significance for enhancing national cohesion and increasing cultural soft power. To tell the story of contemporary China well, it is necessary to start from the perspective of XI Jinping’s cultural ideology and proceed to deeply understanding the three pairs of relationships: “where contemporary China comes from” and cultural confidence, “what contemporary China is like” and the new cultural vitality, and “where contemporary China is heading for” and the pioneering nature of socialism with Chinese characteristics. By doing so, we can enhance our ability to tell the story of contemporary China well with strong endogenous motivating power.

Key words: XI Jinping’s cultural ideology, contemporary Chinese stories, socialism with Chinese characteristics, cultural confidence, new cultural vitality
