Abstract:

In 1996, Grotowski changed the name of the " Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski " to "Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards", which means that the responsibility of the workcenter was transferred to Thomas Richards. In January 2022, Thomas announced the closure of the workcenter. In February, the core members of the Workcenter established a new theatre arts research company, Theatre No Theatre. Although the establishment of the new "de-Grotowski" company, its practical activities are still focused on "inner action", exploring the ancient tradition of performance elements, passing on the "art as vehicle" research and spiritual values of Grotowski.
