Abstract:

“Visibility” is a prerequisite for war and also for image presentation. In milestone essay films that influence the history of film or the cross-border fields of film, although war is not the eternal protagonist, the choice of war themes is directly related to the use of film technology. Taking "visibility" and "perceptibility" as a powerful condition of creation is a form of expression that essay filmmakers make good use of, and also reflects the relationship between aesthetics, history and politics. An essay film is a process of questioning and arguing about the nature of mankind, a process of reflecting on war through the use of reenactment, and a process of struggling for the truth as much as possible.

Key words: essay film, warfare techniques, world image, perceptibility
