Abstract:
This article focuses on "viewing artworks" within the metaverse, exploring innovative methods of art appreciation in this new era across three dimensions: the viewer's perspective, the content, and the mode of existence of artworks. It first examines how NFT technology enhances art viewing by removing physical distance and enriching detail perception, and it discusses the way digital replication technology obscures the information of original works. It then analyzes the reconfiguration and diversification of artworks facilitated by artificial intelligence in the metaverse, and the influence of constructed narrative contexts on viewing experiences. Lastly, the article considers the metaverse as a virtual and abstract dimension where art from different times and places is gathered. Utilizing VR technology, it creates three-dimensional models that construct a world within the painting, articulated through artistic language, allowing viewers to interact intimately with the art—walking, observing, exploring, and living within it. This approach highlights the issues related to the oversimplification and entertainment-focused nature of art viewing in the metaverse.
Key words: Metaverse, artworks, watch, digital art
