Abstract:

This article introduces and validates a lightweight, scenario-based approach for designing Internet of Things (IoT) products. Based on document research, we provide conceptual definitions and an overview of IoT product design and theory for scenario-based product through theoretical analysis. We propose the classification of product scenarios, scenario acquisition and construction, as well as a lightweight, scenario-based product design approach. Through practical validation, we use a refrigerated cabinet IoT monitoring product as an example to demonstrate the effectiveness of the scenario-based, lightweight IoT product design approach. We present a scenario-based, lightweight IoT product design approach that encompasses scenario classification, scenario acquisition and construction, and hardware design, software design and information pathway design of IoT products based on specific scenarios. We emphasize that the design approach is lightweight with all design work based on scenarios, thereby achieving advantages such as resource concentration, cost savings, and accelerated design progress.
