Abstract:

The "unity of knowledge and action" and "people-orientation" are the core contents of Confucian thought and have been paid more and more attention by later generations. Although the "unity of knowledge and action" was put forward by Wang Yangming, it was also always advocated by Confucianism. Only the understanding of "action" should not only focus on the "action" of social practice, but also take into account the practical significance of the choice of good. "people-orientation" and "human-orientation" have both links and differences. Wang Yangming's "heart-based" is the Chinese style of "people-orientation" philosophy, and it should not be regarded as a simple guide to behavior like "unity of knowledge and action". Exploring the ideological significance of its epistemological and ontological brainwashing is an important component of understanding Chinese philosophical thought.
