Reform and Practice of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education in Art Colleges Driven by Discipline Competitions

Abstract:

In order to better promote the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education in art colleges, enhance the awareness of innovation and entrepreneurship among art students and improve their learning initiative, and improve the original singular mode of curriculum-centered training programs, this article advocates innovation and entrepreneurship education oriented towards student needs. It integrates professional education with innovation and entrepreneurship education through discipline competitions, thus constructing a system of innovation and entrepreneurship education in art colleges. Using the case of the innovation and entrepreneurship education reform at Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts under the drive of “Think Youth”, and student participation in events such as “Think Youth”, this article discusses the practice of using an art competition management system to host discipline competitions. It explores the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in art colleges through discipline competitions from four aspects: training programs, classroom extension, dual-teacher mentors, and diverse evaluation.
